Background

Stella Konadu Owusu is an esteemed healthcare professional currently serving as the Director of Health Services for the Birim North Health Directorate. With over three decades of experience in the healthcare sector, she is commitment to improving health outcomes and access to quality medical services for the residents of Birim North.

Stella’s professional journey began at the Korle- Bu NTC as SRN, and later Midwifery Certificates. She later enrolled in the University of Ghana, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and Psychology. She then pursued a Master’s degree in Public Health from the same institution, further equipping her with the knowledge and skills needed to tackle public health challenges. Her academic background is complemented by a certifications from GIMPA in Health Administration and Management.

Stella has held various pivotal roles, each contributing to her extensive expertise in healthcare management. Before assuming her current position, she worked as a senior nurse manager at the Eastern Regional hospital, and Fanteakwa South District Hospital. As a District Director of health Services, she has worked in the Akyemansa, Brim South and Achiase Districts (she was the first to start the Achiase district). She is thus experienced in both clinical and preventive healthcare services.
