Background

Ms. Rachel Nyamah Obeng, born on December 12, 1964, hails from Brekwa-Breman in the Central Region of Ghana. She is a Deputy Director of Nursing Services in the Ghana Health Service with extensive experience in Public Health. Her expertise includes Epidemiology, Nutrition, Disease Control, Reproductive and Child Health, Immunization, Family Planning, General and Community Health Nursing, and Midwifery. She began her career in 1981 after completing training at Tamale Community Health Nursing and worked for 12 years as a Community Health Nurse in rural settlements in the Northern Region of Ghana.

Ms. Obeng furthered her education to become a State Registered Nurse in 1997 and later obtained an MA in Health Education from the University of Cape Coast in 2016. She started her professional journey at the MCH/Family Planning Division of the Ministry of Health in Tamale in 1984 and steadily rose through the ranks within the Ghana Health Service. Through dedication and continuous professional development, she now serves as a Deputy Director of Nursing Services, contributing significantly to public health and healthcare delivery in Ghana.
