Background

District Director of Health Services, North Tongu District, Volta Region, Ghana

Michael Kofi Sedofia Zigah is an experienced public health professional with over 17 years of service in the health sector. He currently serves as the District Director of Health Services in the North Tongu District, Volta Region, where he oversees the daily administration and management of the Ghana Health Service. His key responsibilities include:

  • Providing leadership and supervision for the execution of health programs and activities.
  • Monitoring clinical and public health interventions, including communicable disease control, reproductive and child health, nutrition, mental health, and health promotion.
  • Presiding over the District Health Management Committee and implementing its decisions.
  • Translating and adapting national and regional health policies to the district level.
