Background

Dr. (Mrs.) Priscilla Anima Poku is a highly accomplished healthcare professional with an impressive academic background. She completed her secondary education at St. Mary’s Senior High School in Korle Gonno before earning a B. Pharm (Hons) from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). She further advanced her education with degrees in Health Services Planning and Management, a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), and a PhD in Population and Family Reproduction Health, specializing in child health. Her strong academic foundation has equipped her with the expertise needed for leadership in public health and healthcare administration.

Dr. Poku began her career as a pharmacist at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and later joined the Ghana Health Service. Before her current role as Municipal Director of Health Services for La-Nkwantanang Madina Municipal Assembly, she served as the head of the Pharmacy Unit at Madina Polyclinic. Since her appointment in 2012, she has played a pivotal role in establishing and managing the municipal health directorate, fostering collaboration between clinical and public health services to improve primary healthcare delivery. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving health promotion initiatives, disease screening programs, and overall healthcare quality in the municipality.
