Background
Dr Samuel Abudey is currently the Municipal Director of Health Services of the Kpando Municipality.
Education: Dr Samuel Abudey had his O’ Level Certificate at Kpando Secondary School in
1983 from where he continued to Mawuli School, Ho, for his Advanced Level Certificate. He had his medical education at the prestigious Pirogov State Medical University in Ukraine completing in 1994. From 1995, he underwent his housemanship at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH). He was then posted to the Volta Region at the beginning of 1997. Dr Abudey obtained his Masters in Public Health at the School of Public Health in 2002. He also obtained a certificate in Health Services Administration (HAM) and a Masters in Public Sector Management (MPSM) at GIMPA in 2006 and 2011 respectively. He also had his Membership of Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2014.
Working Experience:
Kete-Krachi District: Dr Samuel Abudey was posted to Kete-Krachi in 1997. He worked as a Medical Officer before being appointed the Ag. DDHS for the then Krachi Districts. He was appointed substantive DDHS on 10th September 2002 after obtaining his MPH. He lobbied for the construction of several CHPS compounds and water systems in two communities, Osramae and Monkra infested with Guinea Worm. It is interesting noting that Dr Abudey himself participated in immunization outreach activities to the island communities.
Jasikan District: In August 2004, Dr Samuel Abudey was posted to Jasikan District as the District Director of Health Services and the Ag. Medical Superintend.
