Background
Francis Kwotua Apungu is a multidisciplinary and self-motivated Public Health Officer (Nutrition) with over a decade of working experience at the district levels of health service. He has great experience and knowledge in health problem diagnosis, quality improvement, and the use of data for action in the achievement of organizational goals.
He holds a Master of Public Health, MPhil. Human Nutrition and Dietetics, BSc Community Nutrition. Other certificate courses pursued include Health Administration and Management (GIMPA), and Governance and Leadership in Health (Pentecost University, Ghana).
Francis Kwotua Apungu has served as a member of the Kwahu Presbytery Health Services Area Board from 2020 to date.
Until his appointment to the position of District Director of Health Services, He was the District Nutrition Officer from 2008 to 2019 at East Akim Municipal Health Directorate (Now Abuakwa South Municipal). He worked as a Data Entry Officer for the National AIDS/STI Control Programme (NACP), at Kibi Government Hospital from October 2010 to March 2011.
He also held additional positions such as Acting Health Promotion Officer, District HIV focal person, and District Research Focal Person, and served as a Regional Facilitator for training on infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF).
