Profile

Background

Mr. Daniel Derby was born in Aburi but both parents hail from Akwamufie in the Eastern region. Daniel had his secondary education at the Adonten Secondary School in Aburi between 1991 and 1993 been part of the pioneers of the Senior Secondary School system in Ghana. He proceeded to the Koforidua Nurse’s Training college in the Eastern region obtaining State Registered Nurse (SRN) Certificate in the year 2000. In 2003, Derby gained admission to the then Kintampo Rural Health Training School (KRHTS) now known as College of Health and Well-being, Kintampo graduating with Advance diploma in Community Oral Health and Medicine, again as a pioneer in the newly introduced Community Oral Health Officers (COHO) program.

In 2012, due to his quest for further education, Mr. Derby obtained a degree in Bachelor of Public Health (BPH) and Master of Public Health (MPH) in 2016 from the University of Ghana, School of Public Health. He also holds Master of Arts in Health Education from the University of Cape Coast awarded in 2017.

Mr. Derby also has certificates in Executive Business Administration and Management and Health Administration and Management (HAM) from Pentecost University College (2021) and Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (November 2018) respectively.
